Meet Brooks! This sweet little guy had a great photoshoot. His mom and dad requested a mostly neutral color theme for their photos. We began the session with shots of the family. I like to start my newborn photography sessions with photos of baby with mom and dad and, if there are any, siblings. I prefer to get these pictures first so family members can then relax for the remainder of the session.
Following the family photographs, I will move onto the images of the star of the show–the baby. From there, I usually will move to shots of baby on a beanbag poser. This is essentially a flat-topped, overfilled beanbag that is covered with a fabric backdrop in the parents’ choice of colors.
When the beanbag shots are complete, I will often move onto the prop images. I generally do 2-3 prop setups for each newborn session. The prop shots will also include fabrics, swaddles, hats, headbands, and other accessories in the colors or color schemes that parents chose prior to their session.
It was great getting to meet this lovely couple at their maternity session and then seeing them once again, this time as a brand new family of 3!
