Sweet miss Leia made her arrival just before Christmas and came to the studio a few days after the holiday. She was accompanied by her proud parents and her doting big brother! Newborn sessions at KCB Photography studio begin with photos of baby and family, followed by photos of baby with any siblings. I find this works best for everyone so we can get family images done while hair and makeup is fresh. Also, the studio is kept quite warm (typically I am for around 78 degrees or so). Doing the group poses first allows for family to change into something more comfortable for the remainder of the session, if they wish.
Leia’s daddy is in the military, so for her newborn photoshoot we incorporated a United States flag-patterned wrap and headband. Mom and dad also preferred to focus on photos with big brother, who was more than happy to hold and cuddle his new sister. We kept to mostly neutral colors per family’s request. I have loads of neutral colors as well as pastels, jewel-tones, earthy-tones, and bold colors. Since baby was born so close to the holiday, I was happy to include some holiday-themed accessories such as a sweet, handmade candy cane and a gingerbread man, as well as some white furs and a sweet little snowy pine tree prop. The session wrapped up with a sweet, swaddled pose on one of my neutral flokati furs. I currently have several genuine flokati furs to choose from, including dark blue, white, tan, and gray. Additionally, I have wraps, swaddles, and accessories to match all the furs.
